Classical Guitar Concert by Giordano Passini

Giordano Passini

Born in Bologna in 1986 he started to study music at 12. He started studying piano and, after a year, passed on to the classical guitar with the guitarist and composer Cristian Gentilini. He continues the guitar studies with M° Giovanni Maselli, while continuing the theoretical study and analysis of music with M° Gentilini. In 2011 he graduated at Licinio Refice conservatory, Frosinone, Italy. At the end of 2011 he attended, for two years, the specialization master at “ Tarrega Guitar Academy” in Pordenone with M° Paolo Pegoraro and M° Adriano Del Sal. At the same time he continues his studies with M° Giovanni Maselli. In 2013 he attended a specialization Master at "Il Cantiere della Musica" Monterotondo (RM) under the guidance of Maestro Arturo Tallini. He partecipated in a lot of Masterclasses with important international guitar players including: Ricardo Jesus Gallén, Carlos Barbosa Lima, Roland Dyens, Walter Zanetti, Francois Laurent, Guido Fichtner, Johannes Tappert, Eduardo Eguez, Johannes Tonio Kreusch, Adriano Del Sal, Roberto Tascini. He played concerts in important institutions and music festivals including: “Intorno alla Chitarra” Alba (CN), “Incontri chitarristici Acerrani” Acerra (NA), “Festival Paganini” Parma, “Amici della Pieve” Vergato (BO), “Concerti sotto la Luna” Costigliole d’Asti (Asti), Sala Trastevere in Rome, “Invito all’ascolto” Rastignano (BO), Solarino Guitar Festival di Siracusa, “A Passo di Musica” Sasso Marconi (BO), Tienda Ramirez (Madrid, Spain), Auditorium San Francisco (Avila, Spain), International Music Festival (Craiova, Romania), Youth Square and Music City (Hong Kong). He made his debut as soloist with the orchestra performing "Fantasia para un gentilhombre" by J. Rodrigo. During the celebrations for the Italian Republic Feast in 2014, he performed in a concert at the Italian Embassy in Albania at the presence of the highest offices of State and local Italian Ambassador in Tirana.   • 3rd prize at the National competition "Giovani Promesse" Acerra (Naples), 2010.

  • Finalist at the International “Scharpach Guitar Competition” Oberhausen (Germany), 2011.

  • 3rd prize at the National Competition “Riviera della Versilia”, Viareggio, 2012.

  • 3rd prize at the International Competition “Città di Treviso” Treviso, 2013.

  • 2nd prize at the National Competition “Riviera Etrusca”, Piombino, 2013.

  • 2nd prize at the European Competiton “Città di Moncalieri” (Turin), 2013.

  • 2rd prize at “Mario Gangi Competition “, Cassino 2013.

  • 2nd prize (1st not assigned) at the XXIII edition of the National Competition “Daniele Ridolfi – Riviera della Versilia”, Viareggio 2014.

  • 3rd prize (1st and 2nd non assigned) at “Festival delle due città”, Treviso 2014.

  • 1th prize at "Moncalieri European music Competition", Moncalieri 2014.

  • 2nd prize at "Pemio nazionale SilVer 2015", Empoli 2015.

  • 1st prize at International Competition "Contea", 2015.

In addition to the solo artist carrer he dedicates himself to chamber music in the following ensembles:

  • In a duo with cellist Giacomo Serra;

  • In the Guitar Orchestra "La Follia Guitar Orchestra" in Bologna.

He plays a guitar made by the Neapolitan guitar maker Alessandro Marseglia and one made by the guitar maker Luciano Lovadina from Treviso. On the English magazine “Classical Guitar Magazine” (issue August 2012) was published an interview about him written by Lawrence Del Casale. In 2014 he published his first solo CD entitled "Frammenti" containing music for guitar of the twentieth century. On October 26, 2014 will be broadcast on "Radio Vaticana" an interview for the presentation of his first album. Winner in 2014 of the prize created by “Giovani Confcommercio - Ascom Bologna” dedicated to "Massimo Zivieri" for passion, innovation and expertise, he is moreover founder, chairman and professor of classical guitar at the music school “Ousia Armonica” in the area of Bologna and Modena since 2006. During 2010 – 2011 he has been teaching classical guitar in the “G.Marconi” school in Castelfranco Emilia. From 2009 he created and conducts, as artistic director, the International Classical Guitar festival “Claxica” that in few editions has become a landmark in the guitar landscape, hosting guitarist coming from all over the world. www.claxica.it
